Cute art style, unique storyline, and… fish in the passenger seat?
Yep. That’s right. That’s what Road Trip to the End of the World offers.
In this visual novel, you play as Andy. She’s going on a cross-country road trip to crash her ex-best friend’s wedding after having the worst summer of her life. With nothing else but good tunes, questionable food, and an imaginary fish friend. What could possibly go wrong?
It’s a short and not-so-sweet game about falling out and feeling left behind in life, so if you’re feeling particularly sad right now… well, maybe wait until you’re feeling chirpy and then let this game bring you back down. (I’m kidding! Kinda. )

Road Trip to the End of the World is about an hour, give or take, but it really doesn’t feel like it is. Not because I was overjoyed throughout, but because I was invested. Was Andy going to succeed? Did I want her to? What exactly happened between her and her ex-best friend that made her want to crash the wedding?
You get to figure that out as you progress, and either help or hinder Andy when getting closure. Do we listen and not judge? Or do we listen and realize that maybe this isn’t the healthiest way to cope with all the stuff she’s got going on?
This one has made a lasting impression on me. The dialogue is super casual and personal, and I’m a sucker for a flawed protagonist who can be seen as an unreliable narrator– although, to be honest, I view every protagonist through that lens. (They have to earn my trust, damn it!)

This is one of those gems hidden in the free games section. And it definitely deserves to be in your game library. It’s free. Nothing to lose! If you want something you can just breeze through, then go on, get the game, get in that car, and crash that wedding!
